Our Policies

In Creekwood Kids, we have a two-fold objective: to ensure that church is a happy place for our kids and a safe place for our parents. In order to make this possible, Creekwood Church has established the following methods and measures that all of our trained staff and volunteers abide by with Creekwood Kids.

Safety

Our kids' safety is our top priority. Whether you are a first-time member or a regular member, you child will be watched at all times.

Each child is assigned a number. Once you become a member, your child will receive a permanent number. If there is ever a situation where a child needs the special care of Mommy or Daddy, the number will show up on the screen in service. Additionally, at pick up, your number slip must correspond with the child’s number given at drop-off.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE is a young child given to an adult without proper identification.

For the older children, they are taken to and from the service in one collective group, watched by trained volunteers where parents and children are seen by everyone.

Soundness

When there is a large or small group of children, germs will be exchanged. It’s a rite of passage to raising kids, and we understand. Church is a great place for parents to have some time together while our trained volunteers are watching and teaching your children. However, if your child has one or more of the following symptoms, we strongly suggest that you keep your child at home:

  • Fever or high temperature (99.1 and above)
  • Green or yellow runny nose
  • Excessive coughing
  • Discharge in or around the eyes
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting

Also, if your child is taking antibiotics, we ask that the need for these precautions be unnecessary for at least 24 hours before your child comes to church.

Service

For our teachers, students and children, we have the “30 minute rule.” Creekwood Kids opens 30 minutes before service, closes check-in 30 minutes after church service begins to help everyone focus on the class, and looks to have every child back with his or her parents 30 minutes after church has dismissed. We know people love to have fellowship after service, and encourage that, but kindly remind our parents that your children miss you too.

ANY PERSON that works with Creekwood Kids will be screened and interviewed prior to direct contact with children. This precautionary measure is for the protection of our children and for the ease and comfort of our parents.

All volunteers have certain, regimented guidelines to practice when dealing with specific age groups, dealing with areas of being alone with children, changing diapers and when to notify parents in service.
